Five years ago "Fener" hired Alex to be the leader of the team. It worked out well, and in order not to fall behind and give satisfaction to their fanatical fans, the board of "Gala" also wanted to bring in an ace who could command the team on the field. After a careful selection of names, Lincoln was chosen. And it worked out well.
In the first season, 2007/08, the shirt number 10 won the 17th Turkish league title to his club after memorable performances and was loved by the fanatical fans. Then he led the club to win the Super Cup of Turkey at the beginning of this season.
In the current season Lincoln has fared slightly better than Alex. In 22 league games Alex has scored ten goals and made 11 assists. While Lincoln in 21 games has recorded eight goals and 14 assists. But when we analyze all games, the two Brazilians has palyed, the difference increases. Alex in 35 matches, has 16 assists, while Lincoln, in 37 matches has 21. A record at the European level.
"Our team has great quality and do everything they can on behalf of their teammates. Furthermore, Galatasaray is well organized and practice ood football. When I go on the pitch to make our fans happy is something that has great value to me. I will still try helping the club to get the three points against Ankaruguçu. Alex is a great player and will be remembered forever in the history of Turkish football. I am happy for the success of the Brazilians here, it is not easy to have your work recognized. Everybody wins with this."
This weekend, the Turkish League fans will have the opportunity to see beautiful football practiced by Lincoln once more. He commanded the "Gala" (placed 4th with 52 points) at home, this Saturday, against Ankaragücü (placed 10th with 36).
