
Denmark took a huge step towards the World Cup finals, when beating Sweden 1-0 away on Saturday.
”It was more hard work, than beautiful football, but after the goal it was as if we just wanted to defend the lead, so theres room for a lot of improvement. This victory is extremely important and our chances of participating in the World Cup looks better than ever,” Poulsen said.
Surprisingly to many Christian Poulsen was substituted after 70 minutes of the game.
”I would have liked to play more, but after an hour I could feel I was close to getting the cramps in my legs, when running very fast.
Denmark leads group 1 with 16 points ahead of Hungary with 13. Portugal has nine points, while Sweden is left with only six points.
