Modbook R&D Labs – The Inside Track, Issue No.15

MB_RnDLabs_TheInsideTrack-No15-0225sIMGHello my fellow T?pferlgucker (?).

There’s been a lot of activity the last two weeks as we finalize our pre-production builds and ramp up for production of the Modbook Pro X.

Take a look

We’re excited to be able to give you a first look at the near-final Modbook Pro X (Revision C), fully assembled with integrated UI Panel (some components are still in their raw, non-anodized form)…

In the photo below is a closer look at the internals of the system, with the MacBook Pro components attached to the alphabody core (some informal notation marks are still visible, and some cabling is not yet in place):

The next photo provides a closer look at one side of the system near the battery compartment:

Next is a look at the opposite side with some ports visible:

Here’s a look at the back side of the device with a non-Keybar back cover (still bright and shiny because it hasn’t been anodized yet, with a number of smaller parts not included):

And finally, here are two closer shots of the front of the assembled device:

We’ll have more cool stuff to show you soon! (And to anyone going to the movies this weekend, may the Force be with you.)

Until next time,
Andreas & the Team

The Modbook Pro X is a one time, small production volume project to create a tablet mac computer solution based on Apple’s 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro notebook. While only backers of the project will be able to receive the Pro X, we’ll be sharing insights and updates as we advance the project. Follow us on facebook at for notifications our next posts.
